Pending 1.3.1

I am noticing an issue where NPCs will spawn on cargo ship initially, but after some time will despawn. NPCs from heli are also not spawning at all. Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

Do you see any errors in console around the time that cargo ship NPCs are despawning? Do you have any other events or plugins around cargo ship?

And when you say heli NPCs are not spawning you are referring to the NPCs that spawn when patrol heli is taken down correct? Or are these from the chinook CH47?

No, there are no errors. They just despawn.

How are cargo ships spawned on your server?

Do you have any other plugins that affect gargo ship in any way?

Any chance you can get a clip of this happening and check a few things like the map and anything in console around that time?

Also still curious which NPCs are not spawning for you, chinook from drops or patrol heli when it is taken down?

Well it was patrol heli when shot down but now they are after doing a server reset. The only thing I have that touches cargo is Event timer which just messes with respawn timer. I'll watch for the next natural spawned event and monitor the console. When it first spawns, they are there. But it's like when no one is near the ship, they despawn after a while. Ship is empty by the time it docks at a harbor.

Okay glad the heli issue is resolved.

Let me know what you notice with the cargo NPCs maybe whatever issue you were having before stopped after a restart and hopefully they are fine, if not just let me know. We have not had other reports yet but will check it ourselves whenever we have time.

OK so cargo spawned with npcs like normal, nothing on console other than where the ship spawned. If I stick with the ship, the remain. If I go elswhere on the map and come back to it, they are gone. No errors, no indications to anything in console, even if I Ctrl F and search, the only cargo reference is its initial spawn.

Will run some tests on it this week when I have time.

Does Cargo run normally on your server or do you have anything that runs it on a schedule or anything like that?

It runs on a custom timer from Timed Events https://umod.org/plugins/timed-events

What is the timer set to?

Could you test letting it run once without the command to see if it happens when it spawns normally? Moreso wondering if the command is running again before it has left the map and that could be when the NPCs are disappearing. But always good to test possible conflicts.

Cargo just spawned naturally and threw this. Only error there is...well not really an error but just showing them despawn.

By the POS that looks normal that is the ship exiting the map. The scientists are all killed when that happens and it removes their drop bags too.

It had only just spawned and was entering the map

Was that with the other plugin unloaded?

Yeah I disabled it. But based on what you said, I spawned the ship manually using console and NPCs stayed the entire time. So they are there when it spawns initially, but die as they enter the map.

Can you explain further, are the NPCs from BetterNPC showing up?

You said they are there the entire time but then you said they die when they enter the map.

They are as the ship spawns. If I tp to the ship and stay with it, they persist for as long as I am near the ship. If I go anywhere else on the map, they despawn.

If I do not tp to the ship as it spawns, the NPCs die soon after spawning.

If I spawn the ship manually, the NPCs persist the entire time and do not ever despawn.

If this is not happening with spawning the ship by command or with a vanilla spawn then this would be something that needs addressed with the developer of the plugin spawning the ship. Something is wrong with the way it is being called if the error is not happening in other instances.

I think you're right and we can go ahead and mark this as not an issue. I've done more testing even with disabling your plugin and vanilla NPCs are doing the same thing. Sorry to take up so much time on this. Thanks so much for your help.

No worries, if you notice anything else please let me know if you find anything out in the future regarding this. Nothing to apologize for.

Hello! I'm having the same problem on a cargo ship. If you set the value "Path to the crate that appears at the death location (empty - unused)", the crate will fall and remain when the NPC disappears. Is it possible for you to investigate this? No plugins related to cargo ships are installed.

実際、これがそのオプションの意図です。 それに関してどのような問題がありますか?これがここで設定したものですか?おそらく戦利品を変更しようとしているだけで、これは別のオプションです。

Quote

In fact this is the intention for that option.

What is the issue you are having with it? As this is what you have set here? Perhaps you are just trying to change the loot, and this is a different option.

Sorry for the delayed response.
Basically, when the cargo ship event starts, NPCs disappear, causing crates to drop.
As a result, players can loot the crates without having to defeat the NPCs.

Please create your own ticket for this on the site, or you can come to the Mad Mappers Discord and create a ticket there, and I will help look into what may be causing those issues for you.

The one thing I can say now is that I recommend removing plugins like the event plugin that runs Facepunch events, as it seems to have been the result of a few different issues recently.
