Reskin epic loot resets to default item

When players reskin epic loot items it no longer is an epic loot item. I've seen this work on other servers. How to fix?

It depends on how the items are being reskinned (what plugin etc).

Epic Loot requires the name to persist; it doesn't care about the skin.

Plugins like Skinner will change the name of the item when reskinned, but has an option in the config to prevent this.

Skinbox should work out of the box.

I'm using Skinner but I'm assuming you can't help me with this so I will reach out to the Skinner developer.
